Philosophy for Children & Thinking Skills

As part of our commitment to developing our children's thinking skills, Philosophy for Children was last year trialled and, this year, successfully rolled out across the school, with children all the way from Nursery up to Year 6, asking and taking part in some wonderful discussion and debate.

The premise behind Philosophy for Children rests on the importance of questioning and dialogue to ensure differentiation and challenge for all.  As a result, the rationale behind Philosophy for Children impacts positively on all areas of the curriculum.

Having successfully rolled out Philosophy for Children throughout the school enabled our RE leader to deliver training to over 15 partner schools on the development of critical thinking and Philosophy for Children, a few pictures of which can be seen in the gallery below.
